Ok, so you’ve figured out where you wish to be in a few years from now professionally.
In as much as we have said that career success is a journey and not necessarily a destination, that does not remove the need for visioning, planning and goal setting. No matter where you are in your professional life, you need to have some sort of plan or goal that you aim to reach.
How about we take off for this week’s journey on a plane safer than a Korean Air flight in the 80s (a doff of the cap to Malcolm Gladwell’s ‘Outliers’), more appetising than an inflight ‘gourmet’ meal and more exciting than an onboard episode of the ‘Bold & The Beautiful’ (but equally formulaic)?
Decide quickly, fail fast, know when to walk away and, most importantly, have a party when you do!
Parkinson’s Law (more a popular saying) informs us that a task will take exactly as long the time allocated (in my experience it tends to take a few minutes more than the time allocated!).
